“Shadows of the Electric Self”

Late May 2017

“Shadows of the Electric Self” is a new series of animated GIFs and Net Art works created to examine the presence of the Self as a shadowy figure engulfed in interior digital chaos. Im not using the word “chaos” in a negative way here, and if you can associate that word without a negative connotation please do so. The works above first used the interior contour line of the human form and displaced its expected visual content with an internal series of electronic metaphors. The individual became doubled, and then a small group formed, and now a small army is on the rise.

This post illustrates how the process has grown and where it may lead to..

The individual characters were created in adobe photoshop and the net art compositions were created in both to.be and newhive.
